Jennifer Frank Tantia, PhD, MS, BC-DMT, LCAT


Jennifer Frank Tantia, PhD, MS, BC-DMT, LCAT is a somatic psychologist and dance/movement therapist in the Times Square section of Manhattan, specializing in trauma and medically unexplained symptoms. She has taught somatic psychology at Adelphi University and research at both Lesley University and Pratt Institute, and guest lectures internationally. Dr. Tantia has recently served as a grant adjudicator for the NEA Research Artworks commission; former chair of the United States Association for Body Psychotherapy research committee, and currently serving on the board of the American Dance Therapy Association as chair of Research and Practice. She peer-reviews seven academic journals and is an associate editor of the international journal, Body, Movement and Dance in Psychotherapy. Dr. Tantia has authored several publications in both dance/movement therapy and somatic psychology. Her forthcoming book, Embodied Perspectives in Psychotherapy will be published by Routledge in January, 2019, and the two-volume textbook, Embodied Research Methods will be published by Routledge in Fall, 2019. www.soma-psyche.com
